*Release Source: J.C. Thompson FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE J.C. Thompson Aims to Benefit New Orleans Artists with Print-on-Demand Availability of "Distance Til Empty: Volume VI" at Lulu.com ATLANTA, GA —JANUARY 20, 2007— J.C. Thompson aims to benefit New Orleans Artists with the publication of Distance Til Empty: Volume VI in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com), the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books. Distance Til Empty: Volume VI is a collection of photographs taken in and around New Orleans, Louisiana. J.C. Thompson wrote Distance Til Empty: Volume VI to assist in the restoration of the lifestyle and works of photographers, illustrators, and all visual artists living in the flood damaged regions of New Orleans. He came to Lulu because she wanted to be in full editorial control of the publishing process and found Lulu’s print-on-demand tools to be fast, easy and, most importantly, free; allowing the ability to have as much of the proceeds as possible go to the assistance of those he's working to help, with as little third-party interference as possible. Distance Til Empty: Volume VI is available for purchase on-line at www.lulu.com. “During frequent visits to New Orleans before and after Hurricane Katrina, I was always spellbound by the art of the city.” said J.C. Thompson. “I realised after being inspired by NOLA for so long, I felt I needed to give something back, especially to the overlooked art scene that thrives in the streets there, even to this day." Open Mic made with the joy again. Hurray! When more coherent, perhaps you'll get a post out of me. In the meantime... I have a smallish favor to ask. I need "bits" of things. Some of you know what's up, the rest will get pictures eventually. But here's what I am looking for: buttons, beads, charms, bottle caps (preferably metal), bits of string, yarn, wire, or ribbon, safety pins, scrap fabric, loose keys, bits of metal (washers, nuts, odd bits), mardi gras beads, tinsel, paper clips, pushpins, left over craft supplies, glitter, sequins, and anything either bright, shiny or both. Said things can be returned to you if you wish, but please let me know in advance so I can catalogue what I've borrowed. I just need them for a couple weeks for a project I am working on. It would be helpful to get things from some of you over the weekend, or at Open Mic next week. Thanks!! Tags: magpie, request I'm in: in the basement. I'm feeling: tired

Okay, I started this forever and eight days ago, back when my buddy list was, like, twenty people. Let's see what I can make of it now, with nearly a hundred. Here're the rules: I ask a question. You answer it. Simple, yeah? The catch is... you interpret what the question means. It's gonna be generic, vague, general, and sometimes really random. Answer it with the first thing that comes to mind, the last thing that comes to mind, hell, anything that comes to mind. Show your work, kiddies. I wanna know how you got where you got! So the question is: Why'd you do that?C'mon, you can't resist it. And I really want to see some of you wicked clever people out there participating. *nudges chaosvizier, city_of_dis, djkangal and wordmaster73* Tags: wednesday one I'm feeling: silly
